Ennetavad strateegiad

Nagu eelnevates peatükkides mainitud, ollakse üksmeelsel arvamusel, et DEHP kasutamine plastifikaatorina on problemaatiline ja teaduslikud paneelid kogu maailmas soovitavad selle kasutamist piirata.1, 4, 7, 16, 24, 34, 39, 45, 46, 57, 58 Lisaks sellele on saadaval palju erinevaid alternatiive, nt teiste plastifikaatorite kasutamine PVC pehmendamisel või täiesti erinevate PVC-vabade materjalide kasutamine.

Sellest on alguse saanud mitmeid rahvusvahelisi, riiklikke ja piirkondlikke toiminguid, sealhulgas kohtumenetlusi, ja seda nii tervishoiusektoris kui ka mitmetes teistes tööstustes nagu mänguasjad või toiduained ja joogid.
